cqen.list Weekly Digest Subject: Public Sector Quality Subject: TQM Government Subject: TQM Government ---------------------------------------- Date: Wed, 5 Jul 1995 10:10:16 -0400 From: JAOHunter@aol.com Subject: Public Sector Quality I would like to introduce two sources of Public Sector Quality information I am involved with: the Public Sector Network and the Public Sector Continuous Improvement Page. In 1987, the Public Sector Quality Improvement Network was formed by practitioners in the State, Local and Federal government. In 1992, we joined with ASQC and became the ASQC Public Sector Network. Our Mission is: To help government leaders increase the capacity of the public sector to deliver services that delight the citizenry through accelerating the development, application and documentation of total quality management. To advance a systems approach to the public sector that will foster collaboration between federal, state, and local government. The Members of the PSN executive council are: Barry Crook Chair Multnomah County OR Rebecca Meyers Chair-Elect NY State Tom Mosgaller Past-Chair City of Madison WI Mike Williamson Past-Chair NC State John Hunter Secretary U.S. Office of Personnel Management We now have over 2,000 PSN members working in Local, State and Federal governments internationally. I think it is a valuable resource and it costs nothing to join so you have little to lose. You can call ASQC at (800) 248-1946 and tell them you want to join the Public Sector Network. Or write asqc@asqc.org (for the subject type: Public Sector Network) and say you want to join the PSN--include: your name, snail mail address, organization, e-mail, phone, fax (and home phone if you want). We will send you some more information and our Quarterly newsletter. You can access text files of our past newsletters via internet through Clemson University http://deming.eng.clemson.edu/pub/tqmbbs/govt/psnnews1.txt for the second issue of PSN News http...psnnews2.txt etc.. You can reach information on the PSN via the www: http://www.asqc.org/membinfo/division/psn.html The Public Sector Continuous Improvement Page aims to support public sector improvement actors. The site is new and still relatively small. Currently you can access suggested reading material, articles (from the TQM BBS library), information on the PSN, organizations of interest, a guide to online sources and links to other sites. The site will continually grow and improve. It is a commitment by management to it's people and it's product - stretching over a period of decades and lived with persistence and passion - that is unknown in most organizations today." *** Forwarding note from LIST8 --INELMAIL 07/07/95 06:24 *** To: LIST8 --INELMAIL LIST Subject: TQM Government Hi!
